MY WORK IMPERFECT, HIS WORK GLORIOUS
“Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to Him shall men come; and all that are incensed against Him shall be ashamed. In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.” —Isaiah 45:24-25
The good works of the Christian believer flows from the truth of justification by grace; but to exalt any morality above the work of God in the Cross of Jesus Christ is to blaspheme His atoning work. Until we are glorified in that Day, our deeds are always imperfect. Christ’s work is the only work that is holy, perfect, and complete. The revelation of this truth keeps us trusting in Christ and leaning upon His grace alone.
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world” (Galatians 6:14).
