We’re addressing two ‘whats’ on this page.
“What is this blog about?” and
“What’s on your mind?”
First, What is this blog about?
“Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
“That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
—Titus 3:7, 8
This weblog contains articles and links to articles promoting the Biblical truths of Christ crucified and the doctrines of grace; specifically, that the truth of man’s salvation is in God’s justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, is for God’s glory alone, according to Scripture alone.
Though the essence of this weblog flows forth from those truths, this site exists for the edification and education of the body of Christ; that is, for believers who have been saved by God’s grace, born from above, and regenerated as new creatures unto saving faith and repentance.
It is also a combination of two blogs: my long running and popular, JustificationByGrace.com and PreachingChristCrucified.com.
STATEMENT OF FAITH:
I am in general agreement with the early English Baptist confessions, such as the 1st London Baptist Confession of Faith (1644/1646) and 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith (1677/1689), as well as the early American Baptist confessions, such as the Philadelphia Confession of Faith (1742) and the New Hampshire Confession of Faith (1833).
Additionally, by God’s grace, in my faith I strive to be Reformed in theology but not exclusive; Calvinistic in bibliology but not fatalistic; evangelistic in soteriology but not pragmatic; amillennial in eschatology but not dogmatic; puritanical in praxeology but not legalistic.
A BRIEF NOTE ON COPYRIGHTS:
Anything written by Jon J. Cardwell may be freely copied, reproduced, and distributed by your church, mission, ministry, or your own personal witnessing for the exaltation of Christ and the advancement of His kingdom. Freely we have received and freely we give.
If it is written by any other author, writer, blogger or minister whose article or publication appears on this blog, please check with the original author for specific guidelines.
Even the publications written by Jon Cardwell, whether printed or electronic, may be copied and distributed freely for the education and edification of the body of Christ. We only ask that you do not publish the material for personal profit. Even our books, whether sold online or in bookstores, do not provide us any income personally. What little royalties that do come in each quarter from printed publications go right back into the purchase of materials for ministers in Alaska, the Philippines and wherever the Lord may so lead.
We trust in God by faith for our income through the local church to which we minister, and love gifts and offerings provided through individuals by God’s grace.
Second, What’s on your mind?
What questions do you have? What is your passion? What do you particularly like or dislike about this site? Here’s your opportunity to sound off, as we used to say in the military.
Comment on this page in the comment box below; or if you would like to correspond a bit more privately, you can use the contact form through the ‘Contact‘ button from the menu above.
I will do my best to answer as promptly as I can, but please also keep in mind that I do minister full time apart from anything I may do on this blog. Thank you.
